YANGON-BAGO-BAGAN-MANDALAY-INLE LAKE-YANGON
[9 Days/8 Nights]
Day (1) Yangon
Arrive at Yangon Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon
Yangon sightseeing includes
Sule Pagoda,dating
back over 2000 years ago;
Chaukl Htat
Gyi Reclining
Buddha Image; Karaweik Hall, a royal floating barge for
photo stop and Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most
spectacular monuments. Overnight in Yangon.
Day (2) Yangon-Bago
After breakfast, excursion to the ancient capital
Bago,
80 km northeast of Yangon. Tour highlights includes
Shwemawdaw pagoda, one of the most venerated pagodas in
Myanmar;
Shwethalyaung, the most lifelike of Reclining
Buddhas; Kalyani Sima (ordination Hall);
Kyaikpun,
four high and huge Buddha Images; and Bago market, the
lifestyle of Bago. Drive back to Yangon.
Day (3) Yangon-Bagan (flight)
Morning flight to Bagan. Tour highlights of Bagan
includes a visit to Nyaung-U Market;
Shwezigon Pagoda,
the prototype of Myanmar stupas.
Wet Gyi Inn Gu Byauk Gyi
Temple with superb mural paintings of Jataka scenes; 12th
Century frescoes adorning the corridors of Kyansittha Cave
Temple; Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carving and
Anada Temple with four standing Buddha Images.
After Lunch, visit one of Myanmar's most treasured
handicrafts, a lacquer ware craftsmen's workshop in nearby
MyinkaBa village. Visit Manuha Temple built in the
Mon-style in 1059, Nabaya Temple, a unique sandstone
monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha ;
Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple with its fine mural paintings
under the protection of UNESCO. Proceed to Bupaya Pagoda
to watch the sunset over the famous Ayeyarwaddy River.
Overnight in Bagan.
Day (4) Bagan-Mt.Popa
After breakfast, drive to Mt.Popa, 45km from Bagan.
Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with spectacular views. Its
shrine is dedicated to animist known as “Nats” and you
will have time to climb 777 steps to the shrine at the top of
the peak. Return to Bagan. Afternoon, visit the site of
Tayokepyay Temple in Min Nan Thu Village and
proceed to Mingala Zedi Stupa to watch the sunset over
the famous Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight in Bagan.
Day (5) Bagan-Mandalay (flight)
Morning flight to Mandalay. Excursion to
Amarapura,11
km south of Mandalay. This trip will take you
Mahagandayon Monastery where more than a thousand monks live
and study, to see their last meal of the day in total silence.
Continue to U Bein Wooden Bridge built in 1782. And
observe Myanma traditional hand-woven silk workshop.
Continue to Ava, tour highlights include the 27 meter
high Masonry Watch Tower, the Nanmyint (or) the "Leaning
Tower of Ava"; Maha Aungmye Bonzan Ok Kyaung, a brick
and stucco Monastery; Bagaya Monastery built with 276
teak pillars and observe Myanma traditional Alms bowls
workshop. Afternoon across Ava Bridge, built by
British engineers, to visit picturesque
Sagaing Hill.
Hillsides are dotted with numerous Pagodas and Monasteries.
Continue to Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, with its huge egg-shaped
dome in Ceylonese style. In the evening, enjoy the sunset from
the Sagaing Hill. Return to Mandalay and overnight
in Mandalay.
Day (6) Mandalay-Mingun
After breakfast, boat trip to Mingun, just 12km on the
west bank upstream from Mandalay. Visit Settawya paya,
the vaulted shrine with a footprint of the Buddha;
Mingun Pahtotawgyi Paya, one of the world’s largest chedis
built by Botaw Paya; the World renowned ringing Mingun
Bell weighing 90 tons; Hsinbyume Paya, a
representation of the Sulamani Paya which stands atop
Mt.Meru. Return to Mandalay.
Afternoon sightseeing includes
Mahamuni Pagoda, one of
the most venerated golden-seated Buddha Image of Myanmar
; the Shwe Inbin Monastery, an excellent specimen of
Myanmar wooden architecture ; the Golden Palace Monastery,
a superb example of a traditional wooden building and
Kuthodaw Pagoda, the world's largest book made of marble.
Visit a traditional hand-woven silk workshop as well as a
Kalaga tapestries craftsmen's shop before proceeding to
Mandalay Hill for sunset. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day (7) Mandalay-Heho-Inle Lake (flight)
Morning flight to Heho. Transfer to the small
quiet town, Pindaya to visit Pindaya Lake and
Pindaya cave, well known for its countless Buddha images.
Enjoy also the sonic beauty of the countryside along the road to
Pindaya. The amazing traditional Shan Paper Making
and Bamboo Umbrella and Bamboo Hat Making Workshops.
Afternoon, from Pindaya, drive down to Naungshwe
on the edge of Inle Lake, across the Shan Plateau,
through fields of mountain rice. En route visit Shweyanpyay
Monastery with oval shaped windows built by ancient Shan
kings. Continue to Inle Lake, well known for its
unique leg rowers and scenic beauty with wonderful floating
gardens. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day (8) Inle Lake
After breakfast, Full day sightseeing of Inle Lake, tour
highlights include; traditional pure Silk Weaving Factory in
Inphawkhon Village; 5 day rotation Market at one of
the village; Native's Method of fishing; Gold and Silver Smith
Workshops at Ywama Village; Cheroot and Boat Making
Workshops in Nan Pan Village. Continue visit to
Phaung
Daw Oo Pagoda, housing five sacred and almost shapeless
Buddha images. Afternoon, visit Shan Shoulder Bag Weaving
Center; Floating Garden and Nga Phe Chaung Monastery,
better known as “Jamping cats monastery”, a beautiful old
teak wood building. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day (9) Inle Lake-Yangon.
After breakfast, leave the hotel and drive down to Heho
Airport. Flight from Heho to Yangon. In the
evening, transfer to Airport for departure flight. |
