Pindaya
Pindaya
is in Taunggyi in southern Shan State. It is located 45 miles north of Kalaw Township. Pindaya is a place of picturesque beauty with many scenic spots. As soon as one enters Pindaya a lake known as Poktaloke Kan come into view and this Lake, surrounded by huge the Shwe-Umin Pagoda, built on the slope of the hill. The caves of Pagoda are seated uncountable number of seated Buddha Images. In the caves are Buddha Images of various sizes some curved on the face of the rock and others placed in niches in the walls of the cave. At the mouth of the cave is about 50 feet high. Water can be seen seeping out from the walls of the cave and pools of water are formed on the floor and are known as Natyaykan. There is also an underground tunnel inside the end is supposed to reach Bagan.

Pindaya can be reached by road from Kalaw. On the way to Kalaw one will find hillocks here and there and covered with pine forests which are really beautiful to see. On the market days, the products of the region and crops cultivated by the national races are sold and are can find many different national races are sold and are can find many  different national races gathered at the market buying and selling the products of the region.
